On Sunday 28th May 'The Big Swing' and 'Salsa in The Square' will be returning to Leopold Square for a second bank holiday Sunday this year. Visitors will be thoroughly entertained with an afternoon of decadent jazz, live music and 'Latina caliente' dancing. Free dance classes will also be running throughout the afternoon.
Between 2pm and 4.30pm, movers and shakers can enjoy the sounds of 3 Mojito Sam and the Hot Hammond Heat who will be bringing the beat to the outdoors 'dance floor'. Contemporary classics, pop, rock and even hip-hop tunes are sure to get everyone's feet moving. Vocalist and saxophonist Samantha Jade will be joined by musicians Ryan Taylor, Chris Walker and Phil Johnson for two hours of swing time fun.
Following the daytime entertainment, the square will be transformed for Cubana's Salsa in the Square event - a salsa spectacular perfect for those in the mood to shake their hips into the evening.
From 4.30pm until 10pm dance performances and live music from Orquesta Cuba Son and DJ Spice will keep the vibrant atmosphere going long into the night while free beginner salsa classes with RCDance will ensure there are no excuses not to join in.
