A unique rock and roll cocktail bar, Kuckoo, is set to be the newest addition to Sheffield's night scene.
Opening to the public on Wednesday 12 April the new, 220 sq m premises on Leopold Square, just off West Street, is currently undergoing a full refurbishment.
The Kuckoo brand, which has two other bars in Preston and Chester and another set to open in Knutsford in late spring 2017, is well known for its exciting and creative drinks offering. Kuckoo in Sheffield will be no exception as the menu will play host to 65 inspiring, classic and cool cocktails to keep guests entertained.
Revellers can expect to enjoy an eclectic music mix on the playlist of indie rock and roll favourites from various eras - with popular tracks from Elvis and The Beatles to Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, The Stone Roses and The Strokes – providing a feel-good vibe and fun atmosphere where visitors will never want to leave!
The Kuckoo interior is set to be awe inspiring with an eye opening 'Onyx' style bar as its centrepiece. The Onyx stone is a stunning, modern bar top and fascia, backlit in red to create a warm glow. The newly refurbished Kuckoo will also include luxurious leather and velvet seating areas, contemporary washrooms, a striking black, granite floor with a sparkle effect and gold framed photographs of rock and roll legends on the walls.
Founder of Kuckoo, Richard Powell, said:
"We're absolutely delighted to be opening in Sheffield and cannot wait to welcome guests to the bar.
"Our ethos is all about having fun and letting loose in a comfortable yet glamorous environment, and we wanted to bring this to Sheffield. The city is vibrant, fun and contemporary, so what better place for Kuckoo to open its doors, offering a feel-good place to enjoy rock and roll and professionally-made cocktails.
"All our bartenders are passionate about their jobs – it's their career and they are paid a salary and trained to the highest of standards to ensure our guests can enjoy a really good drink, made with care and commitment.
"The music, of course, is equally a passion of ours, and guests can expect to be singing and dancing along with the bar staff when those classics come on!"
Kuckoo will host a soft launch opening in Sheffield to press and VIP guests on Thursday 6 April 2017 from 5pm, and will open to the public on Wednesday12April 2017. Located on Leopold Square, just off West Street, Sheffield, S1 2JG, the bar is open seven days a week from 5pm (serving until 1am on Fridays and 2am Saturdays).
The Kuckoo brand was first founded in 2010 when Kuckoo in Preston was launched. Kuckoo in Chester opened its doors in 2013, and a Knutsford site is set to open in late spring 2017, following the launch of Kuckoo in Sheffield in April 2017.
