Our summer of free live music will come to a close for 2022 at the end of September, but not before some of the best jazz, funk, soul and blues performers that the region has to offer have entertained visitors every weekend.
Jack T Harper is a true blues brother of Sheffield and will be kicking-off September's line-up on Saturday 3rd September. While stalwarts of the local music scene the Acoustic Angels will twist soul and Motown classics with acoustic guitars, sax and violin on Sunday 4th September.
The ultimate crowd pleasers Papa Soul take over on Saturday 10th with their unique interpretation of classic songs from labels such as Stax, Chess, Motown and Atlantic. The Ryan Taylor Organ Trio will be in The Square on Sunday 11th September performing some rip-roaring and riotous jazz, swing and Latin grooves.
Get ready for something different on Saturday 17th when the quirky and ever-entertaining Grumpah will be playing everything from Gershwin to Gaga. There will be dancing on the terraces on Sunday 18th September when seven-piece Carioca Soul perform an eclectic mix of Bossa Nova/Samba and contemporary Brazilian music.
Local legends and Leopold Square favourites Dizzy Club get the final weekend under way on Saturday 24th September, before Lindsay Dracass and her powerhouse of a voice bring an end to the summer of live music on Sunday 25th.
Emma Whitelam, managing agent of Leopold Square, commented:
"It's been fantastic to bring a full schedule of free live music back to Leopold Square. Our September line-up doesn't disappoint, and we look forward to welcoming everyone along to see the summer out with us. We have welcomed some amazing artists and we thank them all for helping to make Leopold Square the place to be for lovers of soul, funk, blues, swing and jazz."
The live music takes place every Saturday and Sunday in September between 2pm and 4.30pm. In the event of inclement weather, the live music may be moved into one of The Square's bars or restaurants. Leave more about each performer on our events page.
