The Fringe at Tramlines at Leopold Square comes to a close with another full schedule of live entertainment.
1pm – The Lemur Conspiracy
The Lemur Conspiracy is an eight-piece original jazz-funk band based in Sheffield. Comprised of an explosive three-piece horn section and a compelling five-piece rhythm section, The Lemur Conspiracy deliver enough energy to bring the house down every night. Drawing from an eclectic range of modern and traditional influences, spanning jazz, afrobeat and dance music, The Lemur Conspiracy write and perform original music that stands among the UK's thriving contemporary jazz scene.
3pm – Papa Soul
Sheffield's very own funk/soul sisters and brothers are the ultimate crowd pleasers, with their unique take on classic songs from timeless labels such as Stax, Chess, Motown & Atlantic. Throw in some reconstructed contemporary funk and disco grooves, plus the raw talent and energy that this band has in abundance...and you have yourself one hell of a party! Whether its playing to a 2500 strong crowd at Sheffield's O2 Academy, eclectic and sophisticated audiences in Barcelona...or the intimacy of The Greystones Backroom, Papa Soul are consummate in their showmanship.
5pm – Louis Louis Louis
Louis Louis Louis are four lads lads lads, from Leeds Leeds Leeds! The band specialises in vintage sounds and vocal harmonies, including swing, jazz, jump blues, doo wop, soul, ska and rocksteady, accompanied by saxophone, piano, double bass and drums.
7pm – The Power Trio Plays Prince
The Power Trio, fronted by the award-winning composer and producer Ryan Taylor, pay homage to one of the greatest artists of our time. Taking Prince's high production value and reproducing it in trio format could only be done justice by our very own Power Trio: Ryan Taylor has been a life-long Prince fanatic and attended no less than 10 concerts by the Purple One and played for one of the country's top touring tribute acts. Joined by bass maestro Alex McGibbon, whose slap bass artistry pays homage to the golden era of the '70s and '80s, and Ian West, who is one of the UK's most in-demand session drummers. Expect face-melting solos, infectious grooves and funky nastiness.
