Summer of Live Music 2026
We're excited to announce the return of our ever-popular Summer of Live Music sessions. Throughout May, visitors can enjoy free live music every Saturday and Sunday afternoon, as well as special Bank Holiday performances.
Firmly established as a fixture in the Yorkshire live music calendar, the summer sessions offer a mix of jazz, blues, swing, soul and rock'n'roll. With a backdrop of restaurants and bars, the Square becomes a lively open-air venue that celebrates the best of local and national talent.
The programme has grown into a much-loved part of Sheffield's cultural calendar, bringing together fantastic performers, a great atmosphere and audiences from across the region year after year.
The 2026 sessions start with a Bank Holiday launch weekend featuring Rogue on Saturday 2nd May, performing a varied repertoire of hits from the ages. On Sunday 3rd May visitors can enjoy high-energy rhythm and blues from Cooking Jack Fats & the Chimney Stacks, before the first Salsa in the Square event of 2026 takes over.
The long weekend wraps up on Monday with favourites Langsett Dance Orchestra stepping onto the stage.
Following weekends in May will showcase artists including Katie Bosworth, Bex Pizzata, The Power Trio, Niamh Kavanagh & the High Fives, and many more. The full line-up for May can be found on the event pages.
All performances take place between 2pm and 4.30pm, unless otherwise stated, with Salsa in the Square running from 5pm.
